Campbell-Ewald Exec Tapped to Market Solutions to Leading Agencies
SAN FRANCISCO, September 27, 2007—Nimblefish Technologies, Inc. the leading provider of automated marketing engines for Fortune 500 companies, announced the appointment of Ed Dilworth to the position of chief executive officer. Dilworth was previously the executive vice president and chief contact officer for Campbell-Ewald where he oversaw operations for digital services, media and communication planning, social media and custom publishing. Dilworth joins Randy Spurrier on the Nimblefish executive team, who has served the company as acting president and CEO since 2001. Spurrier will take the title of president and board member.
“We’re delighted to have Ed join Nimblefish at a very strategic time in the company when we are poised to launch the next phase of our marketing engine suite which will represent a significant upgrade and robust solution particularly focused on the needs of companies in the considered purchase arena,” said Spurrier.
As the nine-year-old Nimblefish transitions from a technology-based company to a sales and marketing service provider, Spurrier and Dilworth will have complementary responsibilities in their respective president and CEO roles: Spurrier will provide the technology vision and leadership and Dilworth will drive the revenue and market position of the company.
“Nimblefish has done amazing things with the engines to make them indispensable to agencies and clients who are marketing in the considered purchase world. Some of this comes from improving usability for agencies due to the advent of Web 2.0 integration tools and some is due to the addition of a really strong variable video engine that is fully integrated with the print, email and web engines. This is critical for any agency or client that is wrestling with how to engage in a more customer-oriented marketing environment,” said Dilworth. “I look forward to taking the Nimblefish solution to clients and agencies who understand that considered purchase requires a much more comprehensive, multi-channel approach to closing the sale.”
At Campbell-Ewald, Dilworth was instrumental in transitioning the agency from a traditional marketing firm to one with a media-neutral approach, launching a new communication planning model and communication practices including a social media group and long-form digital content practice. Prior to joining Campbell-Ewald, he was a partner and president of Kadium, an interactive agency in San Francisco with accounts such as Electronic Arts, ESPN, Levi’s and Genentech. In 1996, he founded Rockpile Interactive, one of the first, exclusively interactive advertising agencies which he sold to Arnold Worldwide. He served as president of the west coast office of Arnold Worldwide before leaving to join Kadium.
